Community Outreach

At Just The Beginning, we believe that every person deserves to feel valued, celebrated, and connected. Many of the individuals and families we serve have walked through seasons of hardship—incarceration, addiction, poverty—but their struggles do not define them. They are resilient, full of potential, and worthy of joy.

Our Community Outreach Program exists to create those moments of joy and connection—moments where families laugh together, children play without worry, and neighbors gather to celebrate brighter days ahead. From seasonal carnivals filled with fun and resources, to educational workshops that empower growth, to leadership summits that inspire hope, these events remind our community that they are seen, valued, and essential to Tulsa’s future.

But outreach is never one-sided. While we teach skills, share resources, and open opportunities, our community teaches us, too—about strength, perseverance, and the power of second chances.

Beyond neighborhood events, JTB extends its reach behind prison walls. Through our Jail and Prison Ministry, we lead transformational workshops such as the 12-week Boundaries program and the 8-week Relationship Goals series within the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Four waves of these classes run each year, equipping men and women with healthier relationship skills, stronger boundaries, and renewed hope for life beyond incarceration.

Since 2008, our commitment has remained steady: to stand in the gap for those too often forgotten and to create spaces where healing, laughter, and transformation are possible.

Join us—at an event, in a classroom, or through your support—and help us write new chapters of resilience and restoration for Tulsa’s families.
